How I Can Help

Life experiences — big and small — shape how we feel, think, relate and cope. If you or your child feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or reactive, therapy can help.

I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist providing evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy for children, adolescents, and adults in Blessington, Co Wicklow and online.

I am trained in EMDR therapy for both adults and young people, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) have experience supporting people recover from trauma and a wide range of emotional difficulties.

You don’t need to have experienced a “major trauma” to benefit from support. If something continues to affect you, it matters.

Therapy for Children & Adolescents

I have extensive experience working with adolescents and their families, supporting young people with:

  • Anxiety and school refusal
  • Phobia
  • Social anxiety
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Bullying experiences
  • Family conflict
  • Low self-esteem and mood
  • Trauma and distressing experiences, including single, developmental, and vicarious trauma

Therapy for young people is developmentally adapted and may include creative, structured or EMDR-based approaches. Where appropriate, parents and caregivers are supported as part of the process.

Therapy for Adults

I work with adults experiencing:

  • Single incident trauma
  • Phobia
  • Anxiety and panic
  • Childhood trauma
  • Relationship trauma
  • Birth trauma
  • Medical trauma
  • Workplace stress and burnout
  • Perfectionism and people-pleasing
  • Persistent negative beliefs (“I’m not good enough”, “I’m not safe”)

Many long-standing patterns have roots in earlier experiences that the nervous system has not fully processed. EMDR therapy can help address these experiences at their source.

Trauma-Informed, Neuroaffirmative Psychology

My practice is warm, collaborative and grounded in evidence-based treatment.

As a neuroaffirmative psychologist, I recognise neurodivergence, as natural variations in human development. Therapy is adapted to suit individual sensory, cognitive and emotional needs.

This may include:

  • Adjusting pace and structure
  • Supporting regulation skills
  • Incorporating visual or concrete strategies
  • Working systemically with families

My aim is not to “fix” who you are, but to reduce distress, increase safety, and support you to move towards your goals.

Evidence-Based Psychological Therapy

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, I draw on research-supported treatments recommended in international clinical guidelines. I have further training in EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), as well as cognitive and neurodevelopment assessment.
